Sober living directory — Kansas City metro
Every operator and home below was identified from a public source — the Missouri accredited-homes list, the operator's own site, or community postings — in November 2026. Facts are stated only where a source stated them. Anything a source didn't publish — price, curfew, MAT policy, an open bed — is not guessed here: call the home and confirm.
How to read this page: "Accredited" means the operator appears on the Missouri MCRSP (NARR-affiliate) accredited-homes list, revised November 2025. The MAT tag appears only where a public source states the home's medication policy — see the MAT guide for what that means and what to ask. If you're on medication, every other home is a phone call, not a no.

Kansas City, Missouri — MCRSP-accredited homes
These operators are on Missouri's official NARR-affiliate accredited list (MCRSP, Western Region, revised November 6, 2025) — the most reliable roster in the state, and one most directories never bother to use.
Healing House, Inc.
The metro's largest recovery housing operator. The state list names 13 Kansas City houses; Healing House's own site reports 15 recovery homes plus three apartment buildings, housing about 220 people a day. Includes family apartments.
Houses named on the state list
Madeline's Swaddle, Sunshine, Purple, Cornerstone, Mama Judi's, Agape III, Wesley, Jessica's, Ruth's, McNeely, Emily's, Erin's, Joye.
Amethyst Place
Long-term supportive housing for women, including mothers with children. Three sites on the state list: AP 1&2 (157 beds), Tracy Campus Apartments (108), and Tracy Townhouse (34).
New Beginning Sanctuary
Women's houses: Jessica's (12 beds) and Marsh (12). Men's houses: Jeff's (18), James (12), Manchester (17), and Freedom (13). Its Facebook posts list a $200 first-week entry cost for Kansas City.
Pieces Peace
Nine houses of 5–10 beds each: Vine, Brooklyn, Park, Woodland, Highland, Flora, Laverne's, Cleveland, and Lister. On the state accredited list — and almost invisible in the big consumer directories.
Ozark Recovery Housing, LLC
Men's houses: Bales (18 beds), Baltimore (20), Walnut (24), Ozark R&R (11). Women's: Charlotte (27) and one 7-bed house. Larger houses than most operators run.
Journey to New Life
Reentry-focused ministry housing for women: Journey House (42 beds) and Peace House (22).
Footprints, Inc.
Two men's houses on the state list: Turning Point (10 beds) and Turning Point: Next Step (6).
Dismas House of Kansas City
Faith-based reentry and recovery housing: Adonis (6 beds) and Everette (10). The KC Reentry Manual describes stays of up to six months or longer.
Revive Residence
Three houses on the state list: Genny (men, 9), Elizabeth (women, 8), and The Recovery House (men, 20). Published reviews describe a 30-day minimum stay, curfew that loosens with time in the house, and passes after 30 days. Prices published in different places conflict — call to confirm the current rate.
Sisters In Christ
Faith-based transitional program for women: Serenity House (10 beds) and Carolyn's House of Faith (6).
COPSA KC
An outpatient treatment organization that also runs two small houses: House Exodus (5 beds) and House Israel (5).
Kingdom Recovery
Two men's houses on the state list: Park House (6 beds) and Westport House (19).
Rise and Shine Foundation
Jessie's House (women, 9 beds) and Freddie's House (men, 9).
One Day at a Time 4 Me
Joya House — women's recovery housing, 6 beds.
Kansas City, Missouri — more homes & programs
Private, nonprofit, and faith-based homes that aren't on the state accredited list (or whose accreditation no source states). That is not a quality judgment — some of the most established names in KC recovery are in this section.
Welcome House, Inc.
One of the few homes anywhere that publishes real numbers and real rules: $28 a day, all-in, per its own FAQ. MAT policy, stated drug by drug: Suboxone allowed under supervision; methadone and benzodiazepines not allowed.
Benilde Hall
Treatment plus transitional housing for men, including veterans and justice-involved men — up to about 110 men including the Matt Talbot apartments.
The Grove KC
Four recovery residences — Aspen, Willow, Hagerwood, and Spruce — and some of the most transparent pricing in the metro: its own site lists rooms in a $650–$750 per month range.
Envision Recovery Sober Living
One of the metro's larger operators — it claimed 9 houses in mid-2026, and people in the local recovery community say 13 — serving men, women, couples, LGBTQ+ residents, and parents with children. It runs on Facebook, with no website; the big directories don't list it at all. Its Trans Revival House is listed in an LGBTQ Kansas City resource guide.

Sheffield Place
Transitional housing for women with children.
ReDiscover — Women & Children
Program-based transitional housing for women and children, run by a longtime KC mental-health and substance-use organization. Its treatment programs use MAT (methadone and Suboxone); the housing-side medication rules aren't spelled out in public sources — ask directly.
City Union Mission — Transitional Living
Transitional living for men inside the Mission's shelter-to-housing continuum — often a first step for men coming out of homelessness.
Isaiah's Place / Joshua's Safe Haven
Christ-centered transitional sober living. Directory listings describe the program but don't clearly state who it serves — ask on the call.
Transitions for Life, LLC
Women's reentry and transitional housing, surfaced through the KC reentry manual rather than the consumer directories.
Beyond the Conviction
Reentry housing for men and women, listed in the KC reentry manual.
Uplift Homes KC
Known from its own flyers rather than any directory: drug testing, mandatory AA/NA meetings, employment required, and a 30-day minimum stay.
River City – WAYGFT Recovery Home
A new women's recovery home announced in late 2026. Its flyer claims NARR certification; it does not appear on the MCRSP accredited list we checked, so treat that claim as unverified until the state list catches up.
Raven House Sober Living KC
Announced through its own flyers in 2026; public sources don't yet confirm who it serves or where its houses are.
Last Stop Sober Living House
Appears in map listings but in none of the consumer directories we reviewed; who it serves and how it runs are unconfirmed — call and ask.
KC Recovery, LLC
A newer operator surfacing through its own Facebook posts in 2026, listing reentry plans, transport, and sponsorship among its services. Details beyond that are unverified.

Independence & the east side
Maple Street House
Peer-led, 12-step recovery housing — the only MCRSP-accredited operator we found in Independence.
The Blue Door
Men's sober living in Independence; the operator also runs an Overton House (its location isn't confirmed in public sources).
Hillcrest Transitional Housing
Not classic sober living: a structured, roughly 90-day program model for families and youth. Listed here because families searching for housing in a crisis find it anyway — and should know it's a program with an application and a timeline, not a rent-a-room sober house.
Kansas side — Kansas City, KS & Johnson County
The Kansas side is thinner and worse documented than the Missouri side — Johnson County in particular has almost no searchable sober living beyond one strong men's option, Oxford Houses, and pages that haven't been updated in years. What's verifiable:
Kansas City Recovery
Johnson County's most visible private men's sober living. Its profiles state it serves men including those on medication-assisted treatment, asks for 21 or more days sober, and runs a curfew with random UA and breath testing.
Changing Generations
A new faith-based women's home opening in November 2026 and accepting applications: 60-day minimum stay, utilities and Wi-Fi included in the rate.
Ross Recovery House for Women
Women's recovery housing in KCK that most directories miss entirely.
Avenues to Recovery — Olathe
A treatment organization whose federal (SAMHSA) listing includes housing services. What housing it currently offers isn't detailed in public sources — call and ask.
Call to confirm current housing options
Mirror, Inc. — Shawnee
Residential and halfway-house services, largely filled through corrections referrals rather than walk-in admission.
Call to confirm how admission works
Mt. Carmel Community Outreach Ministries
Listed as transitional housing; public sources don't confirm how recovery-specific the program is — call and ask.

Oxford Houses — the self-run network
Oxford Houses are chartered, democratically self-run homes: no staff, shared rent, and residents vote on who moves in (see how getting in works). There are roughly 48 across the metro. Because the houses themselves maintain openings, always check oxfordvacancies.com for current vacancies — it's the one vacancy list the houses themselves keep up. Houses below are the ones named in public sources; where a source stated who a house serves or its size, we say so.
Kansas City, MO — men's houses
Kansas City, MO — women's houses
Kansas City, MO — houses whose sources didn't state who they serve
Northland, Independence, Raytown & Lee's Summit
Kansas City, KS
Overland Park & Olathe, KS
Leavenworth, KS: an October 2026 outreach post reported two men's houses and one women's house with vacancies; the houses weren't named in the source. Check oxfordvacancies.com for the current Leavenworth list.
Houses we deliberately left out
Three Oxford Houses that other directories still list as open — Brougham (Olathe), Rockhill, and the Woodland Avenue house (Kansas City, MO) — were reported permanently closed by ChooseHelp's current listings, even while at least one other directory still shows Brougham with a phone number as if nothing happened. We left all three out rather than send you to a closed door. If a house reopens or a report is wrong, the fix starts with the sources — and we'll update on the next check.
